Imagine waking up on a cool morning to the smell of fresh pancakes or french toast. Those tiny pleasures can be fleeting when we start counting our to-dos, but with Sweet Orange, you may be able to hold on to those simple moments a little longer.

Possessing a citrusy and tart aroma, Sweet Orange uplifts your emotions while sweeping away stress. Extraordinarily, Sweet Orange stirs up both calming and joyful sensations because of its antidepressant and stimulating properties. It can also work as a secret weapon in the kitchen against stubborn grease stains.

There are numerous cultivated varieties of Sweet Orange such as Jaffa, Navel and Valencia. The small evergreen Sweet Orange tree is less hardy than the bitter variety and has fewer spines. To extract the essential oil, the peel of the Oranges are put through a cold-pressed process and bottled for your delight.

Use this essential oil sparingly and carefully; one drop goes a long way because its oh so VERY potent and concentrated!

Diffusion: Use one to four drops in the diffuser of your choice (this oil is VERY strong/potent, but you decide how strong you want the scent to be). Ideally, diffuse essential oils for 30-60 minutes on, then 30-60 minutes off. This is not only safer, but it’s also more effective as both our bodies and our nervous system habituate to essential oils after this period of time. Whenever you are using or diffusing essential oils, some air exchange (fresh air) is advisable. Do not diffuse around cats.

Topical use: Apply one to two drops to desired area. Dilute with a carrier oil (Jojoba, Sunflower, Olive, Coconut, Almond, etc.) to minimize any skin sensitivity. Proper dilution ratio and a link for you to learn how to properly dilute is below. See below for safety and usage with the sunlight and tanning beds.

CAUTION: Is phototoxic. Avoid sunlight or UV rays for up to 12 hours after applying topically (photo-sensitivity/toxicity). See this link for how to stay safe in the sunlight or tanning bed when using Sweet Orange: https://www.usingeossafely.com/phototoxic-essential-oils-how-to-stay-safe-in-the-sun/.

CAUTION: Some aromatherapists have reported that a small percentage of people have experienced dermatitis from the limonene content of sweet orange. Please dilute properly and be careful when applying topically.

Please keep out of the heat, the sun and the light. It is best to store essential oils in a cool, dark place or room. Do not leave in your vehicle in warm (75+ degrees) or very cold temperatures. Heat especially destroys the medicinal/therapeutic properties of essential oils. Make sure to keep cap tightly closed. It is best to use your essential oils within one year, although they will last much longer than that if taken care of properly (above). If not taken care of properly, essential oils can degrade and/or go rancid, and will no longer be medicinal/therapeutic for you.
